Edificio de ProCarnes
Dedicated to cattle growing for more than sixty years, in 1998 the entrepreneurial vision of Baraquiel Fimbres Preciado, Armando Gallego Moreno, Salvador Jiménez Vargas and Orlando Platt Laborin, members of families dedicated to cattle growing for generations, analyzed the possibility of building a TIF certified full-service meat processing plant, with the purpose of guaranteeing a service that would comply with the hygiene, quality, technology and attention required by cattle ranchers to access the different markets at state and regional levels.

The project begins to take shape in early 2000, with the design of the plant being approved in April, intended for a capacity of 450 heads of cattle per day, a section for bone removal, a section for salting rawhide, and the construction of a nearby Support Plant, responsible for the production of lard and bone flour.

The founding of PROCESADORA Y EMPACADORA DE CARNES DEL NORTE, S.A. DE C.V. (ProCarnes), took place on July the 11th, 2000. The construction and equipping of the plant began in May of 2001, the first slaughtering took place on December the 10th and in January 2002 the plant formally commenced operations.

At the same time, the bone removal process (a service previously provided by Proveedora de Carnes del Valle, a company founded in 1993 by the same group of investors) was incorporated into the process. Today, this area has the requisite infrastructure to process 200 cattle heads per day.

In February 2002, the Support Plant began operations, with an estimate daily production of 25 tons of lard and flour from bone and marrow.

The federal certification is awarded on March the 18th , 2002 by SAGARPA (the Mexican governmental agency focused on food, agriculture, livestock, and rural development), thus validating the compliance of the required procedures for TIF Certified meat processing facility (Tipo Inspección Federal). ProCarnes was assigned the TIF #301 registry.

Another interesting aspect of our company, is its participation in the Centennial Celebration of Mexicali, as the main sponsor of the event that took place on March 8 th , 2003, where the World's Biggest Taco was prepared with the support of the Guinness Records Organization.

During this event, the "Don Fileto" brand was officially launched to the market. It is under this label that all of ProCarnes products are distributed.

In 2004, ProCarnes began to export its Don Fileto meat brand to Japan, and obtained the "Mexico Calidad Suprema" certification given by OCETIF. Also, it became the first company to export beef meat with this certification.
